Having been an AFR 100 Fast Starter in 2019, Company of the Year in the Fire Protection Industry Awards in 2017 and a finalist in the Qld Regional Training Awards in 2018, and with a strong commitment to pioneering technology and innovation in the industry, now would like a fire engineer to join the growing team.
About the role
The passive fire industry is growing at an exponential rate, requiring consulting expertise specialising in this area. A new level of advice combining much expertise behind system selections for Dts compliance with the BCA, and growing requirements for performance solutions where Dts is no longer a route to compliance is in huge demand.
Plus Passive Fire provides this level of service that combines high level buildability advice required on site and prior to construction, for system selections, suitability of evidence, performance solutions and research and advice via a number of related papers and products.
The role would be integral in our technical team supporting customers – typically other fire companies, manufacturers, or Tier 1 & 2 Builders - but would also support our certification team as required, both on and off site, with technical advice and inspections. You will need to be willing to take on any task to help the team achieve our goals and driven to meet our clients needs ensuring they have the highest in standards of passive fire in their buildings.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have experience with or the ability to execute the following:
Being a part of planned innovation in new knowledge for the organisation
Research for the team including test reports, and review of research completed by other team members to create new consulting products
Consulting in passive fire areas to clients and to the support of the operations team
Analysis with the team of the NCC 2019 around passive fire issues for penetrations and walls
Preparation of suitability of evidence where necessary for consulting fire engineers
Preparation of topical blogs and technical papers for circulation
Potentially giving advice to clients in our telephone enquiry service
Assistance with onsite audits and onsite compliance eg researching solutions
Certification of penetrations on site once skilled in this area, on occasion
It goes without saying that you will have the following skills
Relevant tertiary qualifications
RPEQ registration would be an advantage
2+ years relevant consulting experience on building fire safety projects
Developed technical skills pertaining to site audits and inspections coupled with ensuing FER’s would be an advantage
Knowledge of Australian Standards and BCA
Fire Safety Professional Qualification would be an advantage
QBCC Licence or the ability to obtain
Ability to follow process but be able to think outside the box when needed
Outstanding verbal & written communication skills
Eligible to work permanently in Australia
